It’s Cold Outside

It’s Cold Outside.

Officials with Ranson Middle School in Charlotte, N.C., have apologized after a teacher forced several students to return home on a cold day without their coats. The teacher took the coats because they did not match the school’s required colors and did not return them.

AAAARRRGGH!

AAAARRRGGH!, indeed!

If you are holding a Pirate Week celebration, you might expect someone to show up dressed as a pirate. But at least one employee at North Carolina’s Richlands Elementary School didn’t. That employee saw another worker dressed as a pirate and reported a suspicious person. That led to officials locking down not only the elementary school but all schools in the area.

That’s public education for you…

Make a law, punish citizens instead of state agents for breaking it…

Anarcho-tyranny, indeed…

Last year, federal and North Carolina and Georgia state wildlife law enforcement announced the results of Operation Something Bruin, a joint investigation that resulted in bear-poaching charges against 80 people. But an investigation by an Atlanta TV station found that charges against many of those people have since been dropped for lack of evidence and others were allowed to plead guilty to misdemeanor charges such as driving on a closed forestry road. In fact, the investigation found that law enforcement officers, not the alleged poachers, killed many of the bears.
